• Welcome!

I love all types of photography but I specialize in two areas: multiple-generation family photos that capture memories of those people most precious to you, and farm photos that tell the story of your life on the farm where you live and work.

    FARM STORIES
Growing up we raised sheep. I wish I had a photo of me standing in the pens, giving a bottle to the newborn lambs!

    LOVED ONES
My great-grandma Martha taught me how to bake a pie. Every time I bake one, I think of her. I only wish I could somehow recapture that day in photos!

Rub-a-Dub-Dub

This post really needs no words. Mr. C has such fabulous facial expressions that his smiles, giggles and glee shine straight through the photo and straight into your heart. For a one-year old he is so out-going, passionate and full of joy that you really can’t get enough of him!

Just look at those big, beautiful eyes! Full of intelligence and curiosity- what fun!

And my personal favorite from our session- The “great escape” shot, or rather, the “almost”-great escape! Such a cutie!

A Joyous 1-Month Session

This one-month session was originally meant to be a newborn session, but LMR was in the hospital for over 2 weeks of the beginning of his life- fighting to keep it. He had us all scared, but he’s strong and amazing and oh-so adorable! We’re going to see this little man do some fabulous things with his life (we already have!!)

Love those big brown eyes and strong gaze – such a sweetheart.

This photo always makes me laugh. He looks like he’s on the phone and having a conversation with his sock monkey friends! (Note the OHIO State gear in the corner! That’s key;-))

No big smiles this time around, but it really wouldn’t be a baby photo session without the token bawling photo- which I always love (you can’t tell the story of a baby without acknowledging the tears they spilled!)

Happy Mother’s Day!

Wishing all the wonderful women out there a Very Happy Mother’s Day! Mother’s are what make the world a better place!

Above is a photo of my mom – the most talented person I know and everything I want to be when I grow up :c) She’s taught me the importance of following my dreams and how to work hard – Thank you, Mom!

Farm Sunset

Nothing is better than a colorful sunset after a hard day.

I love seeing these grain elevators in Traverse every time I leave St. Peter so this sunset was especially awesome to me and of course the Deere digger just adds to my joy.

A Photographer’s Mecca: Nicollet, Minnesota

It’s official! I am so excited – I am now a resident of Nicollet, Minnesota, a beautiful small town of 900 people. Situated in the middle of everywhere it is triangularly located between New Ulm, Mankato and St. Peter.

Soon Gretchen Alms Photography will have it’s own home here too! More details to follow :c)
